# Invoices And Payments

Gessa uses the local ledger as usage truth and Stripe for hosted invoices,
payments, taxes, and the Customer Portal.

## Invoices

Invoices show customer line items only. They do not expose platform overhead,
provider allocation details, or internal reconciliation rows.

## Portal

The Stripe Customer Portal lets billing owners manage payment methods,
subscriptions, invoices, and payment history when Stripe is configured.

## Taxes

Stripe Tax handles tax computation where configured. Taxes are recorded as
financial adjustments and are not part of customer usage cost.

## Failed Payments

Failed payments follow Stripe dunning and local past-due policy. Workspace
features may be limited according to plan and payment state.
