Upgrades And Downgrades
Plan changes are coordinated through the billing dashboard and Stripe Checkout or Customer Portal when payment credentials are configured.

Upgrades
Upgrades take effect immediately. The local billing ledger records proration metadata, and Stripe handles invoice/payment collection for configured subscriptions.
Downgrades
Downgrades are scheduled for the end of the current billing period. Existing usage events keep the plan snapshot that was effective when the usage was admitted.
Cancellation
Cancellation keeps the current plan active until the period end. The workspace then transitions to Free.
Payment Failure
Stripe handles dunning. Local subscription state follows Stripe webhook updates and configured past-due policy.
